For more than 45 years, our organization has helped individuals and families navigate some of life’s most challenging moments with compassion, expertise, and unwavering support.

What began in 1979 as Hospice Savannah has grown into something much larger: a family of innovative programs and services designed to improve quality of life for people facing serious illness, caregiving challenges, grief, and loss.

Today, that broader mission is reflected in a new name: Georgia Care Innovators.

While Hospice Savannah remains a cherished and essential part of who we are, Georgia Care Innovators better reflects the full scope of our work, our commitment to innovation, and our vision for the future.

Why We Became Georgia Care Innovators

  • Over the years, we listened carefully to the needs of our community.
  • Families needed support long before hospice care was appropriate.
  • Caregivers needed education, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Children experiencing loss needed specialized grief support.
  • People living with dementia needed new models of care.
  • Patients with heart disease needed services designed specifically for their unique challenges.

Again and again, we identified unmet needs and developed innovative solutions.

As our programs expanded, it became clear that Hospice Savannah represented only one part of a much larger story. The name Georgia Care Innovators reflects both where we have been and where we are going—a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding new and better ways to care for people and families throughout life’s journey.
