Pet Peace of Mind®

How We Help

Depending on the needs of the patient and family, services may include:

  •     Pet food and supplies
  •     Cat litter and pet care essentials
  •     Dog walking and exercise
  •     Grooming assistance
  •     Transportation to veterinary appointments
  •     Routine veterinary care coordination
  •     Transportation for pet visits
  •     Temporary foster care
  •     Assistance finding a permanent home when needed

Our goal is to reduce stress and provide peace of mind for both patients and their loved ones.

Why It Matters

For many hospice patients, concern about a beloved pet can become a significant source of anxiety.

Knowing a cherished companion will be cared for allows patients to focus on what matters most: spending time with family, finding comfort, and living each day as fully as possible.

The Pet Peace of Mind® program helps preserve the special bond between people and their pets during an important chapter of life.

A Community Effort

This program is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, donors, veterinary professionals, groomers, and community partners who share our commitment to caring for the whole family.

We are grateful for the support of local veterinary and pet care organizations that help make these services available to Hospice Savannah families.

Made Possible Through Community Support

As a nonprofit organization, Hospice Savannah is able to provide innovative programs that extend beyond traditional hospice services.

The Pet Peace of Mind® program is supported through charitable gifts and community partnerships, helping ensure patients can receive compassionate care without worrying about the pets they love.

Through the Georgia Care Innovators Foundation, donors help make programs like this possible—programs that address needs often overlooked in traditional healthcare settings.
