Children receiving care through the Butterfly Program may be eligible for both curative treatments and hospice support at the same time through Medicaid’s Concurrent Care program.

This means families do not have to choose between pursuing treatment and receiving the comfort, support, and resources hospice can provide.

Our team works alongside the child’s physicians and specialists to help manage symptoms, improve comfort, and support quality of life throughout the care journey.

How Do I Get Help?

Referrals can be made by a parent, guardian, physician, healthcare provider, or family member. Simply contact our Admissions Department, and a member of our team will help determine the best way to support your child and family.

The child’s physician and Hospice Savannah’s Medical Director work closely together to develop an individualized plan of care and ensure ongoing communication throughout the process.

How Is Care Paid For?

Medicaid and most private insurance plans cover pediatric hospice services. Through Medicaid’s Concurrent Care benefit, eligible children can continue receiving disease-directed treatments while also benefiting from hospice support and symptom management services.
